Abstract
Nestled on the banks of the River Ness within the Glen Moriston Hotel, Abstract Inverness is a stylish bar and restaurant recently dubbed a ‘rising star’ by the Michelin Guide. Head Chef Geoffrey Malmedy specializes in modern French cuisine using locally sourced Scottish ingredients wherever possible. Popular dishes include Black Isle beef fillet with oxtail; Scottish halibut with vanilla and chervil; and hot strawberry soufflé. The chic piano bar boasts a huge list of malt whiskies, a wide selection of cocktails and an extensive international wine list. Abstract was the first restaurant in Scotland to introduce a chef's table. Situated in the kitchen, it offers a unique opportunity for diners to enjoy a stunning tasting menu whilst watching the team at work.

Chez Roux Restaurant
The elegant Chez Roux is situated in the Rocpool Reserve Hotel, in the heart of Inverness, just a few minutes walk from the High Street and Inverness Castle. Tucked away inside a boutique hotel, the dining room is a stylish space in cream and black, with large windows providing stunning views and plenty of natural light. The restaurant’s menus were overseen by the legendary Albert Roux and focus on classic French countryside cooking, with an emphasis on seasonal flavours. Head Chef Davey Aspin turns out flawless dishes like sea trout with capers and lemon; beef skirt with marrow bone in red wine; and classic Gruyere cheese soufflé. The restaurant also offers a RouXpress menu, where four small courses are served at once to allow busy diners to be in and out within 40 minutes.

Contrast Brasserie
Contrast Brasserie has stunning views across the clear blue river Ness, flowing through the beawting heart of historic Inverness. The restaurant is located in the old Gelnmoriston Town House and while the outside of the old building exudes period charm, the restaurant's interior is up to the minute style personified: sharp, modern and sophisticated with black, grey and brown finishes. There's also a bbq and dining on the restaurant's sheltered terrace in summer. Contrast is a brasserie with its heart firmly in France, but with one foot remaining in Scotland. It would be mad not to make use of the best North Sea fish, and here they roast local monkfish and steam langoustines which have travelled only a few miles from sea to plate. It's a perfectly designed culinary culture clash.
